Aims & Scope

On animal production in general, regardless of their region of application.  Authors should adhere to these instructions to hasten the review process towards publication.  Original papers should consist of the following sections: Abstract, Adoptable findings, Introduction, Materials and methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusions. Review papers should be sub-sectioned into an Introduction, the body under various subheadings and Conclusion.  Authors should endeavour to provide some discussion of the reviewed material rather than simply compile a series of results.  Tables and figures should be inserted into the body of the paper, at relevant points, not compiled at the end of the Tropical Animal and Poultry Science (TAPS) is an international open-access journal. The journal publishes original and review articles related to basic and applied animal and poultry research conducted in the tropical regions of the world.  We strive to cover all farm animals, in all areas of research, ranging from breeding and genetics to nutrition, physiology, reproduction, immunology, health, wool, meat and product quality.  High-quality papers on the production of alternative animal species in the tropics are also welcome. It is important for authors of original research to suggest the application of their findings.  The journal also accepts short perspectives and mini-reviews (less than 25 pages), commentaries manuscript.

One of the major aims of the journal is also to develop innovative scientific research man-power in the tropics.  To this end, the journal would strive to support researcher development by teaching research conduct and research writing to improve these skills in the tropics, particularly in developing countries.  We will support researchers to plan their research, analyse the data and write the report.  We believe that limitations in these areas should not prevent scientists from sharing their research.  While we do not intend to replace consultancy services in these areas, we will work directly with researchers to develop their skills and recommend consultancy services when the work is beyond our scope.
